Education and Faith Luncheon with David Montague of the Memphis Teacher Residency

  • North Carolina Study Center 203 Battle Lane Chapel Hill, NC, 27514 United States (map)

Want to learn more about how Christians can promote justice in education? Join the Memphis Teacher Residency and its founder David Montague on September 15th for a free lunch to learn more!

The Memphis Teacher Residency is a faith-based, non-profit organization founded in 2009 to recruit, train, and support effective teachers in a Christian context. MTR believes educational inequity is one of the greatest social justice and civil rights issues of today and offers three ways to get involved in its mission of Christian love expressed in equal education: a teacher residency training program for college graduates that includes a free master's and housing, and two paid summer fellowships for undergraduate sophomores and juniors that include housing and a meal stipend. You can find out more about all three of our programs at www.memphistr.org

MTR has had 13 Tar Heels complete the teacher residency program and would love to have more! Whether you are considering MTR as a post-college opportunity, or are someone who is interested in a Christian response to educational inequality, this lunch is for you.
