Kyle Winters

wilberforce leadership program assistant director

Hailing from the Pacific Northwest, Kyle was raised on granola, Subarus, and John Denver music. He went to the University of Michigan to study aerospace engineering and music performance, but instead graduated with a bachelor's degree in Education and a heart for college ministry. Kyle went into full-time ministry with a campus church at UM, only to find himself a few years later moving to Columbus with his wife Meghan and a team of Wolverines to plant a church on campus at Ohio State. Kyle became ordained there in 2011, pastoring for 11 years before moving to Durham in 2022. He received a Master of Arts in Church Planting from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary along the way and is beyond grateful to serve on campus at UNC and be a part of the Study Center team.

Kyle and Meghan live in South Durham with their two kids, Makenna and Jack, and they love exploring all that the Triangle and North Carolina have to offer. Kyle is a devoted Seattle sports fan and is theologically convinced the Supersonics will return before the Lord does. He still loves granola.
